Damn Weather Etc...
I just got up and damn it is cold in here this morning! Am I the ONLY person in the world who likes Summer and actually misses Summer weather? Everyone keeps talking about how "great" this weather is. I do not think it is great. It's not supposed to be 68 and cloudy in Dallas in August. It should be 100 and sunny. Yes, I enjoy summer. I like going to the pool and getting some sort of tan and drinking some frozen margaritas. I like Read more...Collapse )

Which Peter Murphy Song Are You?
I usually don't do these - but how could I resist this one??

strange
You are "A Strange Kind Of Love"

You long for love, yet run from it. You are
confused, perhaps even afraid because it seems
so black and white to you. But your want
overrides your fear.

I'm a slut slut slut

You are a Slutcom 4, and um... wow. They look at you. They blink. You pounce. Your room is characterized by a "Now Serving" counter above your bed and a "Take a Number" box outside your door. Anyone who enters your lair is required to be irradiated before leaving. We're talking two people in a night, multiple hook-ups each weekend... dirrty.

Take the slutcom litmus test!

The slutcom litmus test originated in A Word of Advice.

You know, I'd probably be a level 5 or something, but the youngest option for losing your virginity was 13.

Yikes
I just got back from hospital where Denise is for the night. Nobody worry - it is nothing bad, they just wanted to keep her for 24 hours for observation. She had a minor thing and there was a teensy-eensy microscopic chance it could turn into FLESH EATING BACTERIA. Damn. I mean, it's like one in a million, but I guess her specialist thought better safe than sorry, right? How much would that suck?
"How did your wife die?"
"Oh, it was that flesh-eating bacteria"
Heh. Sorry if I don't sound concerned enough. It's really just a "don't sue me" thing on the part of her doctor, though.
I hadn't been to a hospital (apart from St. David's E.R.) in around 20 years. Man - that place (Richardson Regional Medical Center) was pretty swanky. I mean, I wouldn't weant to have to stay there, but it was much fancier than my idea of a "hospital." Wood (like) floors, wood panelled walls, leather (like?) furniture, a little cafe that actually didn't look that bad, very nice and attentive staff, even Bath & Body Works toilitries in the rooms! It was very much like a fairly nice hotel. Like a Marriot with Doctors. Not quite as nice as, say, an Omni, but very much Marriot-level.
Can you tell I am now bored?
It's strange - we live together and now work together and you think I'd enjoy a little time alone. But really, I can't "enjoy" it when she's in hospital!
Oh - I didn't spend the night because it is only like 10 minutes from here and they gave her two huge sleeping pills and she crashed. So, you see, that would have been a bit silly.

New ID
OK -
Anyone interested should go ahead and add userinfo6dw to your friends list, as I'll probably stop updating this ID soon. But when I update my weblog, that feed should work. Thanks to userinfosubverse for setting me up.
Also if you have friends that are not using any or much of their LJ syndication quota - please ask them to add 6DW. That way, the "cost" of my feed should go down more :)

XML Feed
I was just reading this:
http://www.livejournal.com/syn/

Like most LiveJournal endeavours, it's kind of fucked up. BUT
if any of you paid people would like to add the feed to my weblog, I think (from what I understand of it) that will create a new LJ user and that user is my feed - THEN, if I get a few LJ members to add THAT "member" to their friend's list, the "unit cost" should go down to a point where all you other free users can "afford" to read my feed.

The URL is:

http://www.sixdifferentways.com/index.rdf

Just name it "6DW" or something simple.

How fucking convoluted is that? But anyway, it should work - and then my weblog posts will show up on people's friend's lists. I don't know what the LJ development team smokes, but I want some.

Quick Question for LJ Pros
Is there an option to approve or not approve someone who wants to be on your friend's list? I don't really care who adds me, but there may be a few specific people (i.e. family) I'd like to restrict if they tried to find and read my LJ. Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I'm kind of sleepy and didn't see that option right off.

Would Anyone Know . . .
If it would be possible to write a line of code that would "ping" LiveJournal in such a way so that when I update my weblog, it would also show my LiveJournal as being updated? . . . I mean I wouldn't actually be updating my LiveJournal - since it's kind of senseless to update 2 things - but I figure there are some people who just use their friends list instead of checking weblogs. Ideally, it would be cool if I could feed my RSS/XML feed to LJ as the updated entry, with people clicking though to the weblog if they wanted to read more. Is that cheating? Or integration? Anyone tried anything like this before?

I don't really keep a LJ right now - check out my weblog, instead.
